Introduction of Sailors: Team Italia Girls.
The presentation of Team Italy is in the words of the sailors, the coaches and the team leader.
-Anna Merlo, LNI Mandello del Lario
Honoured to represent my country! I am at this Championship and ready to give my all and put all my skills on the field.
-Sara Anzellotti, LNI Ostia
I’m ready to give my all and field all the things I’ve trained; I’m aware of the challenges that await me and I’m ready to face them with determination.
-Bianca Marchesini, Fraglia Vela Malcesine
I am very happy to be taking part in my second European Championship and I will try my best every day.
-Sofia Bommartini, Fraglia Vela Malcesine
I am very happy to participate in my third European Championship. I will put into practice all the things I have learnt over the years. I will give my best and try to always remain positive and charged up.
-Irene Faini, Centro Nautico Bardolino
This is my first European: I’ll work as hard as I do in everything I do. If it goes well, I will be very happy; but if it goes badly, I will be happy all the same.
-Julija Albrizio, Società Triestina della Vela
I am delighted to be here and to represent my country. I will do my best to do the best I can at my first European Championship.
Coaches:
-Simone Gesi
Finally an international event ‘at home’, in Zone II, in the Club that for many years hosted us as the Optimist Zonal Centre. I am very honoured and happy. I am sure the Club Nautico Marina di Carrara will give us great satisfaction and will be up to the event.
-Michele Ricci
It is a real honour to be here. For the first time I am taking part in the European Championship as a coach. I believe it will be a wonderful adventure.
Team Leader:
Marcello Meringolo
We are very happy that the European Championship is organised in Italy. Carrara has trained so many short-handed sailors and I think it is a very heartfelt regatta spot. We will all try to give our best.
